=== 2 Corinthians 9:6-9 ===
"(6) But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

(7) Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

(8) And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.

(9) As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth forever.

The Airportside Baptist Church Inc. is an independent and pioneering church established on September 21, 1989, growing and continuing in the service of God, the Maker of Heaven and Earth, until today.

The Mission or purpose of the Church is to be a Biblically-based community of believers dedicated to impacting our world with the good news of Jesus Christ. We are committed to seeing the five purposes of worship, fellowship, discipleship, service, and evangelism accomplished through this body both individually and collectively.

Statement of Faith

We affirm the Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God and as the only basis of our beliefs. This Church accepts “The Baptist Faith and Message” as amended, as an affirmation of basic Christian beliefs, and a general statement of our faith as follows:

1. Inspiration of the Scriptures

We believe that the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God and that men of God “were moved by the Holy Spirit” to write the very Words of the Scripture. The Bible is therefore without error (inerrant) in its original manuscripts. The Bible is the special revelation of God and His will to mankind and is the absolute, and only rule, and authority for Faith, Life, and Practice.

God supernaturally preserved the Scripture for man, to provide encouragement, guidance, comfort, and instructions for training in righteousness, specifically to His people.
(2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 2:20-21)

2. The Godhead (Trinity)

We believe in one true God, eternally existing in three distinct persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). God is the creator of Heaven and Earth, and all that is seen and unseen, including us. And that He is totally worthy of our worship and service.
(Gen. 1:1-31, Deut. 6:4, Matthew 28:19, John 1:14, John 10:30, 2 Cor. 13:14)

3. God the Father

We believe that God the Father is the first person of the Godhead (Trinity). He is Eternal, Unchanging, All-powerful, All-knowing, All-wise, All-loving, Omnipresent, Completely Just, Perfectly Holy, Sovereign, Ruler, and Sustainer of the Universe. He is the Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the Father of all believers.
(Gen. 1:1, Eph. 4:6, John 1:12-13, John 5:19-21, John 17:1-5, Isa. 40:21-28, Isa. 43:10-13, Isa. 46:8-11, Rom. 8:14-16)

4. God the Son

We believe that Jesus Christ is the second person of the Godhead (Trinity). The only eternal Son of God, who became flesh and reveal God to man. Being God in flesh, He is 100% God and human, yet without sin. He is referred to by John the Baptist, as “lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.” (John 1:29.36) He is our only Savior. (John 14:6, Acts 4:12) He died on the cross as the substitutionary, all-sufficient atoning sacrifice for all the sins of all who believe in God through Him, Jesus Christ.
He was buried, bodily rose from the dead; physically ascended into heaven in His glorified, resurrected body, is seated at the right hand of the Father performing His ministry of intercession, will return in the air to claim His bride the Church; He will come again to earth, before the Great Tribulation, before God’s eternal plan in executing judgment and ushering in His Millenial kingdom reign to be followed by the eternal state.
(John 1:1,14,18, John 3:16, Luke 1:30-35, Phil. 2:6-8, Col. 2:3-9, Mark 10:45, Acts 2:22-24, John 1:29, Rom. 3:25-26, Heb. 10:5-14, 1 Pet. 2:24, I Pet. 3:18, John 20:20, Phil 3:20-21, Heb. 1:3, Rom. 8:34, 1 John 2:1, Acts 1:11, Heb. 9:28, 1 Thes. 4:13-18, 2 Thes. 2:7, Matt. 24:22, Rev. 19:11-21, Rev. 21-22)

5. God the Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit as the third person of the Godhead, or the Trinity. Whose task is to glorify God by convicting men of sin, drawing them unto Christ, and regenerating those who believe in Him. The Holy Spirit empowers believers from the work of the ministry. He comforts and guides the believers in their Christian walk. We believe the Bible repudiates the charismatic emphasis upon the experiential oriented tongues of the Holy Spirit. We also believe that His testimony isn’t of Himself but of Jesus Christ and the redemptive truths centered in God the Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ.
(John 14:16-17, John 16:8, Eph. 1”13-14, 1 Cor. 3:16, Rom. 8:9, Acts 5:3-4; 1 Cor. 12:12)

6. Man

We believe that man was created in the image of God by direct act of God, and did not come into being as a result of evolution. Man was created to glorify God, worship and serve Him and have fellowship with Him. Man fell through sin by disobeying God, thus incurring both physical and spiritual death, which alienated from God. Man’s nature was thus corrupted and he is utterly lost, “dead in trespass and sins,” and totally incapable of saving himself and coming back into right relationship with God by his own merits or efforts.
(Gen. 1:26, Gen. 2:6,17, Gen. 3:17-24, Isa. 59:1-2, Rom. 3:9-19,23, Rom. 5:8, Lk. 18:26-27, Eph. 2:13)

7. Satan

We believe that satan is the instigator of evil and a real spirit being not simply the personification of evil. He is a fallen angel who, under the sovereign permission of God, has been given temporary rulership of the earth. He was utterly defeated at the Cross, but the execution of his judgment has been postponed by God until after the Millenial Kingdom when he will be cast into the eternal lake of fire. In the meantime, he deceives the world and seeks to establish his counterfeit kingdom on earth to discredit and blaspheme God and to tempt, accuse, attack and destroy believers. He can be resisted by the believers through faith and reliance on the power of the Holy Spirit.
(Gen. 3:1-5, Isa. 14:12-17, Ezek. 28:11-19, Job 1-2, 1 John 5:19, 2 Cor. 11:14, 1 Tim. 3:6, 1 Pet. 5:8-9, James 4:7, Rev. 20:1-3, Rev. 7-10)

8. Salvation

We believe that salvation is wholly by grace, and that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation. Salvation is through the work of Christ on the Cross and that is the free gift of God which is neither merited nor secured through the works of man. Salvation is not a reward for the good works we have done. It is received only by personal faith in Christ and His shed blood on the Cross. We believe that all who will truly repent of sin, trusting Christ alone are made perfectly righteous before God, and given the right to be called as sons and daughters of God. We believe that there is no possible salvation outside of Christ and His shed blood.
(John 3:3-6,16, Eph. 2:8-10, 1 Pet. 1:18-23, Acts 16:31, 1 Tim. 2:5-6, Heb. 9:22, Acts 4:12)

9. The Freeness of Salvation

We believe that salvation is extended to every man as a free gift of God. Jesus Christ shed His blood in order that all men might be saved, but only those who believed the Gospel will be saved. Man has done nothing and must do nothing to be saved. But to believe in the finished work of Christ.

(1 Cor. 15: 1-4, Rom. 4:1-4, John 1:12-13, John 3:16, John 5:24, John 12:46, 1 John 2:1-2, Acts 16:31, Eph. 2:8-10, 1 John 2:1-2, John 17:2-4, John 19:30)

10. Security of the Believer

We believe that once a person is saved, he is safe in the hands of God forever. We believe that the blood of Christ cleanses us from all our sins by the substitutionary atonement of Christ.
It is complete and final, and the believer can never perish after trusting Christ. It is secure because nothing can separate, God’s eternal love for His children. We believe in the Security of the Believers, for their lives are in Christ and in God’s powerful hands. And that it is not humans who carry nor shoulder, or handle their salvation as many pentecostals and charismatics believed. Therefore once you become a child of God, you will never become uncertain. Once you are saved, you are safe in the hands of God forever.
(Rom. 8:31-39, John 10:27-30, Heb. 2:10, 1 John 2:1-2, 1 Cor. 6:19, Phil. 1:6)

11. The Doctrine of the Church

We believe the Church is a body of believers in Christ, of which Christ, Jesus is the head of the Church. The Church is a body of believers that have been baptized by immersion, practicing New Testament principles, believing her doctrines, observing ordinances of believer’s baptism, and the Lord’s Supper and exercising her autonomy. The Church is distinct from Israel in the Old Testament. The pastor, the deacons and all members, are wholly accountable to the Lord Jesus Christ. The Church is independent of any other assembly and fellowship should be with other local assemblies of like faith and practice. There is no other Church but a local assembly of believers.
(Matt. 28:19-20, Eph. 4:11-13, 1 Tim 3:1-13, 1 Cor. 12:12,13)

12. The Doctrine of Heaven and Hell

We believe in the eternal blessedness of the saved, in the literal place called Heaven and the eternal punishment of the unsaved in a literal place called Lake of Fire. The saved go to heaven when they die and will be judged in relationship of rewards. This will take place at the BEMA. At death, the unsaved are held in the grave, be awaken at the time of the Great White Throne judgment when they will be raised bodily in form and cast into the Lake of Fire, which is their place of final and everlasting punishment.

(John 5:28-29, Lk. 16:19-31, Rev. 20:14,15, Rev. 21:4, Matt. 25:46, 1 Cor. 3:12-15)

13. The Doctrine of the Last Things

Prophecy in the Bible is to be taken literally. Therefore, we believed in a pre-millennial, pre-tribulational rapture of the Church. This will be followed by the “Seventy weeks of Daniel” which is called the Tribulation. At the end of this period of seven years, the Lord Jesus will return bodily to the earth. This is called the second coming of Christ. He will establish a theocratic kingdom on the earth for 1000 years. Satan is bound during this time, but will be released at the end of 1,000 years reign to be cast into the Lake of Fire.
(1 Thes. 4:1-5, 2 Thes. 2:1-12, Rev. 19:1-20:15, Dan. 9:25-27, Matt. 24:4-25:46)

Church Covenant

Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and the Son, and of the Holy Ghost,

We do now, in the presence of God, angels, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.

We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; To strive for the advancement of this Church, in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; To promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines; To contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations.

We also engage to maintain family and secret devotions; To religiously educate our children; To seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; To walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements, and exemplary in our deportment; To avoid all tattling, backbiting, and excessive anger; To abstain from the sale and use of intoxicating drinks as a beverage, and to be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Savior.

We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; To remember each other in prayer; to aid each other in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech; To be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, and mindful of our Savior to secure it without delay.

We moreover engage that when we remove from this place we will, as soon as possible, unite with some other church, we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.
